  1. Second time falling with the same rock… Cyno wasn’t even good enougth atm of her launch and now they are reusing a similar idea BUT in a 4* and a bow…

Another another insta-benched character to me. Just leveling up until 70/80 with talents at 1/1/1 = 3 “regular” whishes

PS: I hope to be wrong but i can’t see it being a full Onfield DPS with charged shots…

  2. Range cyno with infusion, ca, em attack dual scaling and depency on avvagrate reaction. Cyno pretty much mid/C tier at point so his 4 star version doesn’t seem good at all.

  3. Hmm lots of words how fasinating-

HOLY AGGRAVATE HE CAN USE MY R5 RUST!
No more crying over my lack of Yoimiya (Jean is on thin ice for stealing her.) Maybe not his absolute BIS but trying to make normal attacks work with Rust Aloy is too much, even for a tolerant player like me.

Thoughts on artifact sets? I’m thinking a simple Gilded Dreams setup, I’ve gotta get some new Deepwood stuff anyways.

    • Actually Rust will be quite bad on him. During burst his NA counts as CA damage, so all those aggravate hits will be CA, not NA.
For artifacts Gilded Dreams or Wanderer’s Troupe seem like the best options.

    • I don’t mean to burst your bubble, but Rust would be TERRIBLE on Sethos, considering not only does it not have a usable passive on him, it has a passive that actively nerfs him.
Sethos’ Burst Normal Attacks are considered Charged Attacks, but hey atleast in a event we will get a 4* weapon that is pretty much made for Sethos.

    • Sethos burst changing his auto attacks to charged attacks was probably intentionally done by Mihoyo so that Rust would be incompatible.

The best overall weapon for Sethos will almost certainly be the 4* event weapon Cloudweaver (which looks like Sethos’ de facto signature weapon).

The 3* Raven bow and the old event weapon Windblume Ode are the only other EM bows that Sethos can use, but there are several 4 *and 5*Crit Rate/Crit Damage and ER bows he could also use.

    • sorry brother. r5 rust is not compatible with him since his normal attacks during his burst is considered charged attack damage. it’s a Raiden situation so it is in favor of the Ibis Piercer, First Great Magic, Amos Bow, even Slingshot and some other Charged attack based bows. because of the heavy focus on Charged Attack dmg, Wanderers Troupe looks extra good on him, but also Thundering Fury as a way to regain energy.

  4. My initial thoughts on Sethos:

I had no idea what type of character (besides being a 4* electro) he was going to be, so it’s nice to see that he will be a main DPS.

He seems that he will actually be quite good. Based on what I have read of his kit, he seems to have 2 distinct play styles:

    1————–
A Quick Swap Main DPS like Tighnari, using aimed shots that scale with his both his attack and elemental mastery. Based on the video in his profile, it’s not clear to me on how long it takes for him to charge up to level 2 normally. In the video it sees both charged shots are being boosted by his A1 passive.

If the normal charge speed is same as Tighnari’s (about 3.5 seconds) that means assuming he is at full energy he will be able to do fast- shadowpiercing charged attacks, then he could use his skill to regain some energy and then fire off a 3rd slower one before swapping out. This playstyle could be good for mono-electro teams as well as some aggravate varients. Sara could actually seem some use here.

    2———–
Sustained DPS, like Yoimiya with her enhanced normal attacks. The rapid fire nature and heavy EM scaling will make this play style more suited for reaction-based teams. Electro-Charged and Hyperbloom will shine with this playstyle. Aggravate should just as good as with the Charged Shot variant, and I see Chevruse Overload being great as well (knock back is much less of an issue for a ranged character).

One the best things I like about Sethos is that he doesn’t seem as reliant on his constellations as many other 4* DPS characters. C6 will help get an extra charge attack in but I don’t see it as a necessity.

As of now, I would say that Sethos at C0 is the best 4* DPS character. If you look at max constellations, he would be second best, behind Gaming but ahead of Noelle.

I hope he isn’t nerfed significantly in the beta because Genshin Impact could use a greater variety of competitive 4* main DPS characters.

    • He might actually be good to play with Dori.
Also, remember he needs to make elemental reactions with his E to gain energy, and of course, as he is EM based it’s probably best to get him some dendro companions, that deal offfield damage. I’m also concerned about his resistance to interruption, as he can’t move while fully charged, so probably some shielder would be nice.

Either way, if I understand correctly, on full energy he can get 3 quick Charged shots (3×20 energy) until he needs to use E and at C6 he get another one for free. At this point he uses up his passive boost and you either have 15s to recharge him or, if you play with battery good enough to charge him, you can go for burst and then you have 7s to recharge him for the next passive boost. Sure, you can’t go like this forever, but he might be cery fun to play in coop, if your party would have a battery.

      • @Joe

Maybe I’m reading the A1 passive wrong, as my interpretation is that Setho’s energy will not go down below 20 from it. But it does go down, that indeed be 3 near instant Charged Attacks before it goes away.

As far as Dori goes, you are talking about her burst-giving energy? Maybe. She can give up to 15 energy over 12 seconds so I assume her main purpose would be to allow Sethos to use Charged Attacks and his Burst in a single rotation, as you described. Not sure how practical that would be in most situations.

The A4 passive will be much more important for Charged Attack Sethos as he will be relying much more on raw power. The normal attack style (with his burst) will be less important due to much heaver focus on EM. Only the first 2 seconds (first full normal attack combo) get boosted and he probably can fit 2 more full combos before the 8-second duration runs out.

Still, for a character that is mostly a composite of styles from older characters, Sethos seems pretty well-designed.

        • Yeah, his passive is only for full charged attacks, not for Q (it’s for Shadow Piercing, and not for Dusk Bolts), that’s why I said that You van use Q in the meantime while you are waiting for passive boost to kick in.

Nów I see that I assumed that his Q cd kicks in at the end of it’s duration. If it starts at the begining though, we can actually do what I described pretty much all the time (in coop with good battery), as by the time passive boost kicks in, the Q CD should be ending.

4 quick Shadow Piercing Shots > E > Q sequence > E > 7s for other party members (or weaker Shadow Piercing Shots in coop) > repeat

          • The amount of energy required to use the Shadow Piercing and Dusk Bolts in the same rotation seems onerous (effectively 120 energy). Sethos would probably need to use energy sands and be in a triple electro team (himself, Fischl, and Dori) to make such a play style feasible. Focusing on one or the other will probably be more fruitful.

If Sethos is meant to use both then he probably needs to be tweaked more in the beta period to make it more feasible.

          • Yeah, you’re probably right.
Could be possible if he was 5*, as they would probably buff his energy recharge/lower all energy needs or they would just give him dedicated 4* support (or probably not, because it could easily damage their beloved Raiden Shogun if not designed speciffically enough).
Either way, I like this kit a lot. If they had added the second set of artifacts (and weapons) to swap between, so you can easily switch between playstyles (of course not mid battle or domain), it would be even better.

    • apparently, you would be using his shadow piercing shot 4 times and I assume that is also the limit based on his energy. his A4 passive only buffs 4 shadowpiercing shots so for his Tighnari-like playstyle, you’d fire 4 shadow piercing shots with that additional 600% EM as damage before swapping out.

Or maybe we can cheese the strat and make Sethos compatible with both playstyles. slap TF on him and on Dori, and have Dori’s burst active during his burst state and weave his skill in during the normal attack phase and perhaps you will have energy back up when it ends.

dori + Thundering Fury is the way to go.

his kit is so simple, yet not so braindead to pull off. require some archery positioning.
